Subject to confirmation of our hall bookings, the following are the proposed events for AWG for 2013.
- 12 – 13 January Janissaries 2000 point 40K event
13 – 14 April Quick March 2000 point 40K event
8 – 9 June Mayhem 2000 point 40K event
3 – 4 August Armourdale 6000 Point 40K Apocalypse event
12 – 13 October Reserved (it will be an event but I don’t know what yet!)
21 December End Time (End of Year Mega Battle)/Xmas Party
I hadn’t intended to post this information until I had received confirmation from Armadale City Council regarding our hall bookings next year. The above dates and our regular bookings were submitted at the beginning of November, but the close off date for club bookings etc wasn’t until 16/11/2012 so they will be still considering them.
The above dates were chosen because at the time I submitted the bookings they did not conflict with other 40K events and where possible those of other systems/clubs. The other consideration is my roster for work, which in theory should not change until at least mid next year at the earliest (fingers crossed)!
Why no single day events?
At this stage until I know what dates we have secured, I have planned on running the above. It is possible that Quick March will become a single day event on Sunday 14/03/2013.
Also we have the hall on Saturdays on a regular basis and I can schedule other single day events subject to my availability and motivation.
Why no WFB or other systems?
I hope to run WFB alongside the 40K events at least in April and June. However I haven’t regained the passion for WFB I once had, so it has been difficult to get organised on this front. However we do have a few WFB players at the club, so we would like to get back into the game so to speak.
As for other systems, I hope to run some BFG and Aeronautica events this year as well. At this time however no club members have suggested any other systems (or offered to run them) except for Magic the Gathering. Whilst we intend to run a Magic Event, I’m only involved in the logistics so it’s up to others to get things moving.
Hopefully I will be able to update this post soon with the confirmed details.
