Hello All

Keen to hear your opinions on the theme of my next game. Buggered if I know how to do a poll so here are some options;

Alien
Predator
Alien vs Predator
Star Trek

There's probably not enough characters for Alien/Predator/etc.

Startrek would work. Voyager, maybe?

Mafia can be borg. =D

Town vs Mafia
The twist is everyone not on the mafia is on the same side!

But if you want a theme to go with it, I've been watching Battle Star Galactica, and can you do much better than Cylons amongst the crew? It's frakkin perfect.

The problem is, is that we know some of the crew are cylons.

Unless you re-assigned who the cylons are.. I don't know.

I see real potential in the aliens one! Go with Aliens, Ripley bishop the whole squad pilots newt etc. should be enough characters?

Mafia would probably want to lie about their names then. Although Boomer would make a good miller

Stargate could work too.

Supernatural? Probably too small.

you dont need to have everyone ad characters you can just use a setting.

I'm sure it would get peoples heckles up but the first thing I thought was make mafia aliens (obviously) but don't give them names to RC! Just alien! Balance it with a plenty of kill powers on the mafia side, would be easy to find the mafia but you can only lynch one a day?

I don't know enough about running a game to know how you would balance it properly ;)

Warrior caste
Predalien
Praetorean
Dog/Alien hybrid
... etc.

Standard practise is for mafia to lie about their name anyway, so it doesn't rule out any theme. Catching people in that lie is an integral part of why roll calls work.

We did have one mafia member actually tell the truth about their name in a recent game, and everyone was completely surprised

I'd like something fairly mainstream, it's much more fun when everyone can relate to it, and don't use 'oh, but i don't know the theme' as a weak excuse for not being lynched
