What I was planning in doing is removing deadlines falling on weekends. I find this to be the period there is usually lots of action by some and very little action by others. During the week action tends to average out.
What do people think of one full weekday for night actions to be in? Too quick?
Following the current game I will post details for the next one, and see the response we get. Definitely keen to have roles as being a basic townie does make you feel left out at night time.
Really depends on the size of the game (I guess speaking from very limited experience).
If you were going to remove deadlines falling on weekends then you would have to set it up, and then players would be restricted. ie: the day period is Saturday to Wednesday, the night is Thursday and Friday. The restricted part that I was talking about is when a lynch is decided on say a Monday or Sunday even and then everyone has to wait till Saturday before it is day again.
You might also get a bit of predictability, like "oh look, such and such is logged in on Thursday and not posting anything, must be in Mafia PM land".
Your game, your set up though, give it a go and ask for feedback, best way to learn.
Some more themes for thought.
Just about any super hero universe.
Any Guy Richie film....
