Heh. More Nobz are always nice, it's true! In a Ghaz list, Blitz Brigades would especially like them... in the Speed Freeks list, though, it seems like the formations where you'd get the most benefit from them (Outriders, Kults of Speed - mass infantry bodies without leadership that will break easily and permanently if they can't shed markers) can't take them, even though the option of Nob Bikerz would be super thematic in those formations. The Kult of Speed looks like a lazy copy-paste from the Ghaz list (which grinds my gears a bit) and the Outriders lack the usual Orky flexibility in numbers and upgrades.

The Fortress unit seems like it would look impressive on the table but would die horribly in very short order. War Engines without Reinforced Armour have always died very fast for me so far. If it only takes a turn or two of enemy shooting for a DC 16 Mega-Gargant with 11 power fields to die, I can only imagine how quickly a DC 3 Fortress will go up in flames, especially when their critical effect is "Die, and take your friends with you"!

Mobility is awesome, but the reduced value of Landas (paying a premium to fill them with Warbikes rather than Nobz + Boyz + Grotz) seems to make the list in practice somewhat less mobile than a built-for-mobility Ghaz list, at least in terms of being able to put your combat dudes in the right place to krump faces. Perhaps it's just that the Ghaz list is already so impressively varied and flexible in its variety of builds that it's setting my expectations for the Speed Freeks too high!

(At least they can both do the mobility thing well - the Feral Orks are so sloooooow, just like the Gargant list but without the firepower. An Orkeosaurus horde would be pretty cool to set loose on someone, though. Okay now I just spent half an hour building Feral Ork lists, they look really fun to play.)

Kadeton, I think you need to have a game against Runejack and his Orksies, just to see how another player uses the green hided scumniks :)

A picture says a thousand words, so here's one of what a single Speed Freakz formation looks the moment before it charges.

The units are fantastic firefighters, and even when backing them up with fightabombers Jason's deployments are generally the whole 6 foot length of the table. :)

Well you could take a blitz brigade and just stuff it full of Skorchas to get your big group of Skorchas with a nob in it? Say spend 360 points for 4 flakwagons, 7 Skorchas and a Nobz Warbike? You could throw the Warboss in there too! Personally I might pad the numbers a tiny bit more as well. The only downside is this is 10 points more expensive than the Skorcha group which couldn't take a Nob anyway.

I'd love to play a game sometime! Keep in mind it's been half a year since I played.
