What do we think to these new army building rules from the next end times book:

Could anyone with the Nagash book check if the wording for using these (i.e. update and replace) is the same for the 50% lords and hero’s?

Does it matter? Unbound is an official way to build an army in 40k too, but you dont see it at tournaments either.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but 40K unbound armies are optional. The wording in the leaked photos is not, it's very similar to how they worded the new increase to 50% lord and heroes' in Nagash.

It may not make a difference to tournaments as you say.

But with 9th rumored to be July 15, what if the new army lists/ factions or units have no classification.

Hmmmmmm it's hard enough to understand ET magic in a Tournament.

Or maybe it's all fine and 9th sets the record straight and it's just 8.5ED, and ET magic is for grand army games and the skirmish rumor is for small less than 1,000 point games.

I suppose its more of a worrisome development and indication of possible things to come rather than having any relevance in the short term. I cant see anyone actually using this outside casual games for giggles.

Unbound is as optional as bound. There is no set way to play 40k in the rulebook, it all has to be negotiated between players or set by a TO.

Unbound is as optional as both playing with the same points limit (or playing with a points limit at all). I dont see this development in Fantasy being ANY different to 40k.

My only concern other than facing 20 steam tanks  which would be really cool to see.

Is the classification, with the recent Harlequins codex having no HQ. Does this indicate a move by GW to reduce or even eliminate classifications?

As the rumors say that new units will be released and have the rules within the box, its logical to assume for GW to encourage sales. it would make sense to remove classifications.

Rage Quit on hold........ kings of War is looking very tempting right now

If someone took 20 steam tanks, I'd feel a compulsion to slap them, as there was never 20 made.

Hmmm

If these rules were commonplace I may actually play warhammer again.

What? Slapping people who disregard the fluff, or ignoring restrictions?

Ignoring restrictions.

I'd rather tell my own stories anyway.

I don't think disregarding the fluff will be a thing when the fluff has been completely turned upside down.

Nah, its 17 skull cannons for the win. My army's theme is the grand artillery train of khorne. Its a mono-god no magic army, must be soft as!

True, in some aspects. But when only x of something exists in the fluff, even if the fluff is 200 years down the line, after world explosions, it would still be considered slap worthy if someone took in excess of that number.
