With the Regiments of Renown mini tournament coming up, I thought I might try use the opportunity to do an army that's appealed to me for a while.
That is, the idea of a few armed to the teeth good guys about to go smash on! Classic sort of adventure quest kind of stuff!

My problem is that I can't find any human (male / female) armoured infantry who really fit the bill.
That is, they aren't large / bulky / armoured enough to warrant being proxies as Chaos Warriors.

The closest that I've found are these from PP. I may yet use them and do a few conversions, just not much of a fan of the intense shoulderpads going on.

Any suggestions? :D

What do they look like without the shoulder pads? Are they seperate pieces? If they where plastic it seems to me you could reduce the height quite easily by hollowing out the joint

Could you use normal chaos warriors but use different heads, weapons and shields?

From memory the body doesn't have anything on it that wouldn't be too hard to de-chaos.

I think your right. I've seen a de-chaosified(?) Archaon so these guys would be doable.
Still, the Cinerators have really grown on me and as nothing else has caught my eye, I'm going to plug on with them.

Sure, I plan on making a general Regiments of Renown Blog. I'll post any progress in there. :D

Will be keen to see your progress. I've just decided on my list, and how I'll do the majority of the models. Turns out, this will be a warband for use for this system only...
