I'm thinking of getting into this game - Naval battles in the Fantasy setting.

The creator, Spartan Games, has a great offer going:

http://www.spartangames.co.uk/#/shop/4529596392

I'm thinking of purchasing this - it comes out to about $200.

I want to keep the Dragon Lords fleet, and probably one other fleet (don't care too much for race, just want another fleet to introduce people to the game).

Anyone interested in the other fleets?

The deal only comes with one rule book, which I want to keep, but I can organise something for you

The game got a very good wrap by the D6 Generation guys:

Edit - Tactics has a lot of the range in stock, if you want to see before you commit.

depending on gameplay (which I will eventually listen to D6 generation to see if they tell me about it...) I might be interested in the imperial navy fleet (and in all possibilty, the dwarves so I, too, can try and get other people to try it... although that said, if there were some others in the lower south-west perth metro region, that would be less of an issue...)

As interest continues, I will confirm...

:D

That does look cool. I wouldn't mind observing a game.

Let me know.

I'd be happy with the Orcs, so if you do decide to take the Imperials and the Dwarves, we'd be all set and I can make the order.

The Dwarf fleet is significantly less expensive than the others, so we'll have to work out a price. I'll contribute the largest portion, granted I am keeping the rule book.

I'd also be happy to organise a few games with you down the track.

Can you use Man O War fleets as stand ins for the game? If so I'm in. Also if you ever want to try out Man O War I can sort you out.

Sorry mate, I don't know.

You might want to check the scales used. Here is a link (see pdf doc at the bottom):

http://www.spartangames.co.uk/#/unchart ... 4529548089

I see that the same company also sells a range of 28 mm minis, so I wouldn't be suprised if the game is compatible scale-wise with Man O War minis.

This mega bundle deal (sounds like I'm in a Macca's :lol) includes world wide shipping, so a few of us could group together and take this offer up.

Could be interested in a game of Man O' War. Where do you play?

i have an imperial fleet as well as the rulebook.

Fun game. It kind of reminds of battlefleet gothic, but with extra abilities with cards.

If you just want to try it then buy the rulebook and there are card fleets available for download online, just for trials. The only thing your missing is the cards, so no magic, but the core system is quite good.

cheers

Well I'm interested, but I'd like a game first before I lay down some dollars

Ok so I played thsi game over teh weekend here in Brisbane.

MASSIVE following for it over here!

It really is a lot of fun. I may be picking up a fleet before I head back and entering a tournament here in a couple of weeks time...

I really reccomend giving it a go if you are interested usign teh carboard cutouts or similar.

Very basic game in terms of rules. The interaction of wind and various other things really add a great deal of depth to the game though. I really enjoyed it :)

Hopefully some people in perth get into it and we can get some games in when I get back.

I've played it and Firestorm Armada, both are good fun games--though I dislike the fact only a couple of the fleets actually have to worry about wind direction.

Shame there's so few days in the week, though

Very true about the only so many days in a week scenario.

I am currently enjoying these smaller style games though as they can fit into an evening much more comfortably and allow a bit more of a social air to them :) With this style there is potential to get in a game of this and say wings of war or a small malifaux scrap in a single night. That appeals to me :)

If anyone is interested in this I will gladly play them back in Perth. I shoudl be getting my fleet thsi week :D
