Monsterpocalypse Social Smash

Sunday 15th of August 11am - 4pm

at Tactics - Perth

Monpoc Mega up for grabs - thanks to tactics

$5 only, register at tactics.

(this money will go towards additional prizes - monpoc boosters)

There will be 4 x 1 hour games

The normal 1 monster (alpha & ultra - no megas this time) and up to 15 units (normal limits of no more than 5 of one unit type and no more than 5 elites).

There are also a few spare monpoc forces available for those that would like to play but dont have a force of their own (first in first served).

Minimum of 5 buildings placed by each player per game, up to as many as the map can take but no more than 5 of any type per player (there will be spare buildings available for those that do not own 5 buildings as long as arranged prior to the event).
No more than one faction installation per player.

Maps will not be required and Players will not play on the same map twice.

The overall winner will be decided by Points.
+1 point for every wound caused to your opponents monster.
-1 point for every wound suffered by your monster.
+2 points for destroying 1 of your opponents monster forms
+3 points for killing your opponents monster (both alpha and hyper)

Some battles will have bonus points:

One battle will be a capture and hold mission where both players nominate a building to count as their Home Base, this building will count as indistructable for the battle. The player with the most units touching the base of either players Home Base will gain bonus points: +1 point if you hold your your own Home Base (have more of your own units in base contact with it (flyers must have ground control to capture or hold); and +1 for each unit in base contact with the opponents Home Base if your opponent does not hold his own Home Base). Monsters do not capture or hold but can kill those units doing so.

One battle will have a tram, this will move along a designated track d6 squares at the beginning of each players turn. If a monster does a successful Brawl attack against the tram then it will gain 2 bonus points and 3 power dice. A successful blast or power attack (treat the tram as a unit) against the tram will only gain 1 bonus point and 1 power dice.

Players will need to submit force list before the event, either posted on this topic or emailed to me at shadowhawk@spinfinder.com

a couple of questions asked and answered...

1- I was asked if it mattered if people arrived late, or left early as they had other things on that day.

The answer is - no problem at all - this is not the ultimates - its a social smash with the aim of getting monpoc players together for gaming & trading. Yes it is set out as a tournament with prizes but that just a bonus really, so if you just feel like coming along for one or 2 games thats fine.

2- I was also asked about submitting lists before the day - its not needed, but for those that dont it would advised to write down a list of what each monster/unit/building has and how it works, for those that submit a list I'll be able to provide a list on the day- constant looking through the skills list chews up a lot of time - of course if you know your force and buildings abilities like the back of your hand then you wont have to worry.

Also - people who have never played but are interested having a go can do so, there are a few spare forces available.
