3 days of TGA in a row! Don't know if I'll be able to handle that much win in one hit
At least I can get there Friday for the Malifaux campaign which promises to be great fun.
Yep, and I'll be looking for a crapload of Malifaux games on the Saturday...

Three days of gaming awesome this last week. Let's see what happened!

FRIDAY, 1ST JULY 2011 - TGA NORTH

The Malifaux campaign begins!

Image

There were those who were eager to be first to play under the watchful and ever helpful eye of our newest resident Wyrd Henchman, Liam 'osoi' Tennant.

Image

There were also games of Blood Bowl, Warhammer 40,000, Warmachine/Hordes...

Image

Image

.....and the continuing adventures of Krynn's newest band of heroes in the world of Dragonlance.

Image

The kender being the friendly and helpful character (much like the rest of his kin) paid the fine to free the mysterious Sylvanesti elf who promptly follows his personal code of gratitude and service until the debt is repaid. Meanwhile the gnome and monk make thier way back to town to seek aid after being ambushed by Kobolds as they slept outside the town limits. After recovering with the aid of the party cleric at his temple of Paladine the group meet at the inn to discuss what to do next. While outside a group of centaurs gallop past them heading out of the town.

Image

Erm?....anyway.... Centaurs are not fond of so called civilised folk cutting down forests and such. To see them in town was a very rare event indeed.

Disturbing News

After speaking with the captain of the town guard the party discover two members of the guard are missing after a routine patrol of a bridge located not far from the missing woodsman's cabin. After returning there the druid decides to speak with the tree spirit who informs them that the woodsman was abducted by a group of humans who took him the way of the trail they needed to take to find the bridge. Heading off they find the tree canopy along the trail is covered in spiderwebs as before so they are on guard for ambush.

Image

Looking down from the shadows as the party move is a pair of Ettercap. The party sees them, but such is the nature of thier spiderweb trap skills one party member is still caught. Another is knocked to the floor and trapped as the Ettercap spit webbing before launching an attack on the rest of the group!

Their poisonous bite is deadly nearly rendering the druid's wolf unconscious. However, victory is rewarded with a cache of gold hidden under bushes.

The Bridge

The party arrives at the bridge and discovers a small crumbling building with a secret entrance.

Image

Taking stairs down the party stumbles across a large room filled with enough supplies to support a small army. After helping themselves to some choice items from the stash they continue on. Opening a door they see a long corridor with doors at the other end. Standing between them are two very angry giant scorpions! Fortune favours them yet again and they dispatch them.

Thanks to some Hirst Arts molds and a bucket load of patience I assembled and painted MANY times over the pieces to make the ruins and dungeon tiles. They look fantastic if I do say so myself.

Image

Using suprise the party opens the doors at the end of the corridor suprising a group of humans frantically loading their crossbows to drop the intruders. A battle begins and although the party is victorious the noise (and the fact one of the humans was hurled through another door during the melee) could mean trouble anytime now...

Image

Two weeks from now the adventure will continue.

SATURDAY, 2ND JULY 2011 - TGA CENTRAL

The first saturday of the month means TGA Central is open! For the debut we had Warhammer, Malifaux, everything you would enjoy playing on a lazy saturday. Others took the time to assemble those projects that keep getting put off like...ten Leman Russ Tanks for 40K!

Image

TGA Central prepares to go apocalyptic!

Not an official TGA event but one that seems to be building a tremendous amount of interest. We are putting out the call to those interested in playing on our board setup that will take up half the hall at TGA Central. It all happens this month so stay glued to tgaperth.com.

Bring your tanks, your men, and pray the Emperor is protecting you!

Also, more miniatures were being assembled for:

-Northern Guard Kodiak Gear-

SUNDAY, 3RD JULY 2011 - TGA CENTRAL

Deviled Sausages and Minestrome Soup for lunch, perfect for those winter days.

Image

Next week is the greatest Epic tournament in the southern hemisphere. Players have been taking part in the escalation campaign but now is the time to put all they have learned to the test.

AND FINALLY

As you know TGA does not charge a membership fee and even offers an amazing Loyalty Card system for paying your attendance. This makes TGA extraordinary value to play with your friends, both current and those you will make at the club.

Unfortunately for sometime now there have been people who attend TGA that do not follow the requirement of paying attendance, some of them consistantly. This is clearly an unfair situation to the rest of the people who support TGA as thier gaming home away from home.

This is unacceptable.

The past is the past, but from now on TGA is making it clear that anyone who does not pay attendance will not be welcome at TGA. This also includes being able to play in any tournaments and events, even if you buy a ticket.

TGA - WHERE MAGIC HAPPENS.

Just on that last point - if you come along and watch a game but dont play, do you pay attendance? This is something im not sure on, and may have been guilty of not paying in that circumstance.

It is absolutely free to visit the club. An attendance payment is only required if you engage in a hobby related activity; e.g. play a game, painting/assembling of miniatures, or anything related to the hobby where you make use of the facilities/take up tables.

Of course, we may charge entry for everyone who walks in the door once we get the pole dancing girls.

I'll do my bit to make sure that everyone who is playing in the Malifaux league is paying entry

Malifaux fever has hit TGA North.

There are those at TGA who have contracted a serious case to the point they actually paint/hobby like never before!

Image

A big turnout at the club meant there were lots of games happening.

Blood Bowl, Warhammer, Warhammer 40K, and Warmachine to name just a few.

Friday night and TGA is a winning combination as we grow bigger and bigger. Watch out for more upcoming events soon.

SUNDAY, 10TH JULY 2011

TGA Central was bursting at the seams with a great turnout of 40+ gamers. Word must have got out about the largest Epic: Armageddon tournament in the southern hemisphere.

Image

The middle of TGA Central was a spectical for all things on the smaller side of the miniature scale.

Image

Competition was friendly with some spectacular lead changing events happening all through the day.

Image

Congrates to all who took part and helped make it a fantastic event. Well done to Steve 'Onyx' Marr for showing us just what true passion for your hobby can achieve along with TGA's Fusion Initiative.

If you want to run an event/campaign/tournament for your favourite game system then let us help you. It is an amazingly rewarding experience.

Image

Clan Wolf and the Lyran Alliance meet again in battle. With House Steiner's victory the planet Zaniah and it's people return to the Lyran Alliance.

Image

Image

All Perth's favourite tabletop games were there at TGA Central too. While the rain and cold was outside TGA Central gamers spent the day playing in comfort and enjoying a good hot and hearty lunch of chicken and garlic butter mash potato. Yummy!

Three days of TGA this week! Here's what we all got up to.

FRIDAY, 22ND JULY 2011 - TGA NORTH

Just about every gaming system was either played or discussed at TGA North. There were those Warmachine players looking to get in last minute practise before a big weekend at Full Metal Beast:

Image
WWW.FULLMETALBEAST.COM

TGA was happy to donate tables to support because that's the kind of people we are. Yay!

Continuing the acts of generosity will be the upcoming Warmachine annual event at TGA: FoodMachine 2011. Buy cans of food to give you bonuses in this exciting and community focussed event.

More info soon so keep reading this thread.

SATURDAY, 23RD JULY 2011 - TGA CENTRAL

The start of two days of 40K absolute madness!

Image

The final pieces of terrain were placed and the armies were set up.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

The Army Commanders were issued orders by the brass and had to carry them out each turn or risk losing Victory Points.

Image

These orders were naturally not what you want to do which made for an extremely entertaining game.

Image

SUNDAY, 24TH JULY 2011 - TGA CENTRAL

The slaughter continued on Sunday. It appeared that the Eldar and Necron forces were not Orky enough to get the job done so they called in the big guns.

Without a doubt anyone can see our Ginger Ninja is a true tactical genius!

Image

His orders called for the elite of his forces to be moved into position....

Image

...and the extremely well thought out and detailed plan was revealed to all.

Image

Image

Image

Image

A giant crater where the Baneblade once was destroying everything around it.

Well, almost everything. The Emperor be praised!

Image

Win. Lose. It don't matter when you look this good baby!

Image

The sheapards pie and garlic bread for lunch was amazing! Next week we are planning some of our legendary hamburgers with chips.

Image

Everyone who took part enjoyed the experience which is what it is all about to us at TGA. To Georg and Elias who organised it all a big well done. It is true devotion to the hobby that makes these sorts of events possible.

COMING UP

Image

Here are some of the miniatures that will be featured at this event.

Image

Get ready for some fast paced mecha action in two weeks.

Before I talk about how big next week at TGA is going to be I am going to fill you in on this past week. Here we go!

FRIDAY 29TH JULY 2011 - TGA NORTH

The weather was wild but the truly devoted were eager to brave it to get in their games. Blood Bowl was popular, as was this:

Image

There was a lot of 'Bootzah!' shouts from the participants.....enjoyed by us all in the room (Ratt's voice carrys, even over pounding rain on a metal roof).

Another group making some noise was our band of Ergothian heroes. The adventure continues in the world of Krynn after a short break.

Image

Stumbling into the main barracks of the bandit hideout was bound to end in pain. The bandit leader, a fellow named Athas who was fond of greastswords casually made his way into battle confident of his men being able to deal with these annoying do-gooders without his help. All was going to plan for the bandits until two factors came into play: the DM rolling the most number five results on a D20 in the history of the game...

Image

....and the party's Gnome Ranger.

Image

No! GNOME Ranger...

Image

That's better. Anyway, the Gnome managed to dodge continued attempts to remove her head by greatsword while firing arrows at point blank range. The bandit leader toppled over backwards leaving the last three remaining bandits a clear line of sight to the Gnome who at this point was the last member of the party still conscious. Using the large room and it's contents for cover she dispatched all but one of the remaining men. The surviver, being taller and having longer legs fled for his life and managed to escape.

LEVEL TWO AT LAST!

Luckily the party was all ok and with a day of rest huddled defensively in the barracks they recovered and were rewarded with all the belongings of the bandits and their first level up. Huzzah for second level! They are going to need it too as the now dead Athas had a letter stuffed in his pockets.

Image

At the end of the session we are left with many questions:
  • - There are still rooms to explore in the bandits hideout, but one escaped so will it be wise to continue?
    - Who is Trea? Is the bandit on his way to see here?
    - Could the chance to face the elusive Aragon be a mixed blessing?
    - How is the Kender going to carry 1000 copper pieces and still move?
    - Why did I roll so many five's that game....?
We may find out answers in two weeks when the campaign continues!

SUNDAY 31ST JULY 2011 - TGA CENTRAL

Check out those burgers!

Image

I did notice some people having trouble moving after lunch, you may want to pace yourself next time eh?

Image

Image

Image

COMING UP

Next week is another three days of TGA goodness Friday at TGA North, Saturday/Sunday at TGA Central. We are bringing out the big guns to really make it a great weekend. First up:

Image

Two custom tables have been made especially for this demo event which really capture the art and flavour of Heavy Gear. Players will face off one-on-one to get a feel for thier Gear before being introduced to squad based tactics. This is open to anyone who wants to see what this fantastic game has to offer.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE GINGER NINJA!

Image

August 6th 2011 he gets a little older and a little wiser. Cake at TGA Central! (at some point over the weekend)

TGA - FIVE BY FIVE

This week marked a special weekend for TGA, it was the return of the burgers! Big fan of the BBQ style eats, hopefully it gets cranked out more often.

Also, after months of having my unpainted models edited out of photos, in the time ive had a fully painted force no one has been taking pictures! Devo...

There's rarely any photos of WMH stuff anyway.

Ready.....Go!

FRIDAY, 5TH AUGUST 2011 - TGA NORTH

HEAVY GEAR...IS FINALLY HERE!

Image

Those who walked in the door to TGA North were greeted by the custom built terrain for TGA's introduction to Dream Pod 9's fantastic game of futuristic mechanised combat.

Image

Image
Careful attention was taken to try and match the feel of Terra Nova and it's architecture.

Image
The Badlands table with it's weathered enviro-domes and matching buildings.

Image

This game ended up being played all weekend and there was a special deal for those looking to get thier own miniatures and books too. I think TGA has a new favourite that will be here to stay. After TGA has more games we will be campaigning it up some!

If you are interested in learning more then let us know.

Next Friday at TGA North the adventure continues in Ergoth.

Image

SATURDAY, 6TH AUGUST 2011 - TGA CENTRAL

Fantastic weather to get your game on. The first Saturday of the month and TGA Central was open. Warhammer 40,000, Heavy Gear, Warhammer, and...

Image

Malifaux. This is a really popular game and happens without fail everyday TGA is open. If you play then you should have your crew on hand when you visit us for sure.

SUNDAY, 7TH AUGUST 2011 - TGA CENTRAL

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAM!

Oh sorry, too loud. Our Ginger Ninja had a big night before...

Image

Image

We had caramel cake, apple pie, and ice-cream all free to those present in the afternoon to celebrate. We all agree Cam should have a birthday every weekend, but he'd be dead in a year.....
Image

That argument aside it WAS good cake!

Warmachine players were out in force...

Image

...as were BattleTech, Warhammer, Warhammer 40K, Heavy Gear, Malifaux, Blood Bowl.... Well, you get the point.

COMING UP

Image

WASMEx approaches and TGA will be there on the Saturday with tables to demo and for those looking to get in some games. Visit the official thread HERE for more.

Image

The player pack for this extremely entertaining annual Warhammer event is available! I know people have been waiting for this for sometime now. Visit the official thread HERE and get the player pack.
