It’s a funny club TGA. Quiet, then busy. A lot of people are just happy to come along and chill without even rolling a dice making for some great conversations. With June just around the corner TGA is going to be mega busy with all sorts of stuff happening.
The City of Bayswater council is making some proposed changes regarding the venue we hire out. This will be an ongoing thing for the short term so those attending TGA North will want to stay up to speed on the forums.
Effective immediately, TGA North will be closing at the earlier time of 9:30pm.
The TGA crew require 20mins to pack up so people are to be up and gone before this time to avoid any complaints.
Now that this annoying part is over let’s get down to the fun stuff!
BORDER PATROL 2012
We met. We fought. We made MANY tactical errors. We DID have fun though! ‘Border Patrol 2012’ was not a large event, but all those who took part learned something new about the game so it was worthwhile. Well done to George ‘Baxter’ Baxter who showed us how to die to hover tanks. Below are some pictures from the night at TGA North.
The next Heavy Gear Blitz tournament will be at TGA Central later in the year. A full 1,000 Threat Value using all the standard rules so expect to see some pretty amazing battles.
Just FYI, it will cost you about $130.00 for everything you need to play a faction of Heavy Gear Blitz. If you want to play then talk to me and I will steer you in the right direction to make it happen.
GRINDING GEARS 2012
The campaign restarts at TGA for Dream Pod 9’s Heavy Gear Blitz. No longer do you have to be present at a particular time to issue orders as players now battle to earn counters. Play whenever you like at the club and enjoy the added freedom of not having to choose one system over another.

PIMP MY TERRAIN
At the end of May the five people who took home a basic western style wooden building kit each will return to show off what I am sure will be a collection of terrain to help make a very impressive 3’x3’ table. One has already been completed and is sitting on display in one of TGA Central’s glass cabinets. Judging will be next weekend so head to the official thread at HERE
to learn more of what this first challenge is all about and to see what the results are when they are done.
Once we have a table full of western style terrain it will be time to visit:
Gangfight! Game Studio has been busy. Some of the miniatures from the concept art have had masters made up already. The Mexicans look amazing!
So, keep an eye out for demo days featuring the new terrain as the TGA crew take you back to the Old Wild West.

TGA SPECIAL GUEST: TOM WEBB, CEO OF STEEL CROWN PRODUCTIONS
Tom Webb, CEO of Steel Crown Productions and the hero to many who play Epic in Perth visited TGA Central. Tom took the time to play a game against Steve ‘Onyx’ Marr, the machine behind the unparalleled success of ‘Epic: Armageddon’ centred at TGA. Afterwards, Tom was kind enough to talk to a whole bunch of people regarding all aspects of what his company does.
Thanks from TGA Tom, and we hope to see you again soon!
After a break the campaign will continue once again in June as the party of brave adventurers return to Lusid.
There is another group that has started up for once a month at TGA Central who play another RPG:
More RPG games at TGA I say! MORE!
The SpeedBowl Cup is a 5 round “resurrection†style tournament which will enforce a time limit on turns. This should produce some fast paced fun games of Blood Bowl over the course of one day. The rules are designed to closely (but not exactly) reflect those used by the Southern Shrike Bowl. The winner of this tournament will qualify for selection to the Western Australia team for the Ausbowl State Championship in 2013.
PLEASE NOTE: Places are strictly limited! See the player pack for details.

If it's in the rules, it's in the tournament.
TGA has yet another quality Fusion Initiative tournament for Warhammer. After months of preparation, Casey ‘Ratlady’, a long time player of the game and regular tournament goer was pleased to finally unveil her own first ever tournament - Axes & Allies!
* 1500pts + 500pts of allies.
* TGA Central - Higgins Park Tennis Club on Playfield St, in East Victoria Park.
* A one day event – Sunday, 24th June 2012
* Cost is $25, to be paid on the day.
However, this tournament is not as straightforward as many would assume. Take this excerpt from the Players Pack for instance:
Axes & Allies will be a tournament with a twist! Instead of simply using one army for the tournament, you will be using two…and just to spice things up, you’ll be using them both at the same time! When writing your lists, you will be asked to mark them as your Primary Force and your Allied Force. The difference between the two is below:
The Primary Force:
The Primary Force will be an army consisting of a maximum of 1500pts, chosen from any Warhammer Armies book released on or prior to the 2nd of June. Armies contained within supplementary books (such as Storm of Chaos) may not be taken.
The Allied Force:
The Allied Force will be an army consisting of a maximum of 500pts, chosen from any Warhammer Armies book released on or prior to the 2nd of June. Armies contained within supplementary books (such as Storm of Chaos) may not be taken. The below are the hard-and-fast rules that you must abide by when creating your Allied Force:
1. 1+ character choice (either a Lord or Hero) to act as the Allied General.
2. You may spend up to 250pts on characters.
3. You may take a maximum of 3 of the same type of Special Choice, and 2 of the same type of Rare Choice.
4. You may take any combination of Lords, Heroes, Core, Special and Rare choices as you see fit. You may spend more than the usual recommendation of 25% on Rare Choices, more than the usual recommendation of 50% on Special Choices, etc. And yes, this also means that you do not have to meet a minimum core requirement. Provided that you follow the rules explained in points 1, 2 and 3, you may take what you like.
So if you want to take a High Elf army backed up by a horde of Chaos Knights, go for it! If you want to take a Daemon army supported by a trio of Empire Great Cannons, do it! If you want to take a Tomb Kings army that has been joined by a pair of Dark Elf Hydras, your will be done! The crazy combinations are entirely up to you!
It’s looking to be a real blast!
