Shame!

But will be good to see you back for 1000.

How's everyone's painting going for next week? I've painted model planes for the first time since I was about 12...

For the first week, I'll probably just use mah tanks.
If I actually paint a whole bunch more infantry, I'll end up with a much more balanced force instead

Easiest 270 points ever.
Now to get started on copious amounts of infantry.

Looking good, wish my flag was as easy to paint!

And the lengths you'll go to wus out, Ted ;)

My forward observer team plus a general I got from Tactics for $5. I'll probably just use him as the objective for the Top Secret mission.

Wow, that Thunderbolt is much closer to the camera than the Lightning!

Saying that, I kinda want airplanes for my Italians now, mainly so I can make plane noises mid game.

It's an amazing camera trick right??

But yeah, plane noises is the main reason I'm in it. Plus reasonable 1:72 plane kits are about $15...

Having said, they are the most expensive and elaborate tokens I've ever built--you don't actually need models for them...

The regular WA players are using the 1/72 plastic kits or buying the 1/72 diecast pre-paints from corgi etc.

Warlord have pre-painted die-cast 1:72 planes you can buy on their web store.

But it felt like cheating, and they all have their undercarriage down!

Looking good there guys! Unfortunately, thanks to the wonderful load of marking I've had, I've not been able to even base the next lot of infantry I need to put together for my 750 point force. Hopefully over the intervening week I'll be able to get them together so I'm good to go for the second week, and will then be able to quickly smash out the rest to get me to my 1000 point army. I think I'll try to figure out all of my final basing at the end, rather than starting now. Going to have to take some serious safety measures with my crushed glass snow effects!

Just the one match tonight, with my Americans out for revenge on Dave's Germans...

My ruined village continues to grow...
Image

And this about summed it up:
Image

My air observer was on fire. I pinned about half his army and made the target unit just about useless, whilst the second strike made a unit just about useless on the other flank, whilst my greyhound and a unit of rangers mopped up the rest. In a game where Dave was the attacker, his woeful woeful dice and fairly static army made it an uphill battle, and in the end none of his units got close to my deployment zone.
So 4-1 victory to me, and not a single howitzer or mortar round hit home. Which is a victory in itself!
