Hi, are there any other axis and allies players out there. I have a couple of these games and never really had any one to play them with. I'd be keen for a game if anyone were interested, STH of the river though...

I have 2 versions, the avalon hill anniversary one, and the world at war one. I have only played a couple of games, but i have been practicing using TripleA. Also if you have TripleA id be keen for an email game. I want to extend my games, not really sure how to go about the booster packs and so forth. What is the new game coming out in a month? Are you keen to play? I can meet you at a club or we can play through the week if you like. I have a gaming room so I can leave an on going game set up.

id played the original version of this and again when they brought out optional rules - it was good for a while but the way its set up when you know what your doing it plays out the same every time

all Russia does is buy infantry and push them to the front. Japan needs to build on the Chinese coast for ease of taking the main land and do pearl harbor after which america is boring just sitting there and building up and better off sending bombers/infantry to be based in africa if it wants to get in the game. UK needs to build in india, or its games soon over just sitting there trying to build a navy and air force to keep germany out, and without UK being able to add troops to asia Russia will be lost and then the axis win. Germany used to include italy so i imagine italy is really all about taking africa which is what southern europe used to be the staging point for. Germany is in the midst of it all and has to attack every front but cant win (without major dice luck) if japan doesnt go after russia to reduce the number of infantry going to the german front line and threatening western usa and alaska with invasion to stop america trying for western europe.

this version is played on terrain hex maps like battletech and is a very good easy to learn game the new boosters are $15 at tactics and like magic ccg are a random mix so being able to trade helps build a force you want

I have a huge amount of this and trades available if anyone was looking

this isnt out yet but seems to be a simple to play hex map version of aeronautica imperialis /wings of war
but the models can also be used in axis and allies land based game.

again a random booster pack but im planning on buying a bit so will have trades available if anyone is interested
you only need 100pts in a normal game (so only a few planes needed to play keeping cost down)
it looks like a starter pack will be out with planes for 2 players and probably $40-50 based on the land based one.

Oh so many tricks in this game, Russians builds BB in the black sea can't sail anywhere but use it for shore bombardment into southern Europe, another Japan takes Alaska and builds production facility and then let US take it back and then bomb the f@#$ out of it watch the US $ drop away Lolz
Yeah I have several editions and would like to play more also I play WaS
I'm sth as well (Rocko)

russians build battleship???

spending their entire first turn cash building one means germany/japan take russia in 2-3 turns as they dont have enough meat for the grinder - one battleship = 8 infantry units
I always found the russian navy better at taking out germans northern navy and any survivors used to help take cas away from the UK fleet

America can afford fighters and an aa gun to protect Alaska - japan has to have a carrier next to alaska to get fighter support (unless kamakazi rule is used) overall too costly for little return (assuming no tech rolls) considering US builds up the western fleet after pearl and has an airforce in the area too expensive on japans resources especially as its 15 of japans average starting cash of 24 to build an industrial complex
