Hey there guys, I'm new to the forum and to 40k.
I look forward to getting to know everyone and to hear your view's on tactics. Particularly how to make the most out of a unit made up of an IC with infiltrate who joins a unit of vanguard jumpers or an assult squad unit, not that it affects my dark angel, I was thinking of using Shike.

:)

Welcome!

That one is a minefield, I know it's been debated here, not sure if it was ever resolved.

Hi. Welcome to the forum. I think Tactics are ok, but I sometimes find it hard to get to the city...

Yeh I prefer GW in freo, parking and traffic is much better.

I got an email back from aus40kfaq and their response was to discuss it in the forum.

Here's what I sent them.

Quote:
Here is the part of the rule in question:

"An Independent Character can begin the game already with a unit, either by being deployed in unit coherency with it or, if the unit is in Reserves, by you informing your opponent of which unit it has joined."

Here is the rule governing the use of commas in sentences:

"These nonessential elements, which can be words, phrases, or clauses, are set off with commas. Rule: Use commas before and after nonessential words, phrases, and clauses, that is, elements embedded in the sentence that interrupt it without changing the essential meaning." source - https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/owlprint/607/

So now with this understanding of how commas are used in sentences it becomes clear the rule does not need to be inlcuded in the faq.

It reads like this:

"An Independent Character can begin the game already with a unit, either by being deployed in unit coherency with it or, if the unit is in Reserves, by you informing your opponent of which unit it has joined.

GW hardly ever conforms to/gets right "proper English" conventions, hence, they have a constant need for FAQs. So good luck with your "use of commas" bit. I have had this argument many a time, only to be dis-proven by a GW FAQ.. Again, good luck..
