Ladies and Gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to announce that the WAFFL is open for entry. At this stage I want to discuss two League options that are currently taking entries, but I will also mention a third, as it will be the other 'Major WAFFL'.
First up, and the most important, the WAFFL Open.
The WAFFL Open is a League that we invite all Western Australians to take part in. Standard Blood Bowl Rules apply as per the CRP. We are also using the Underworld Pact, Slaan, Chaos Pact, Khorne Daemons and Bretonnian teams. Each team will have 1 million gold crowns to recruit their players, re-rolls etc. all inducements as per the CRP, which includes the Special Play Cards. But that is about where we divert from the norm.
In the WAFFL Open, there will be no formal schedule. Coaches will be able to organise and enter their own matches into the system (but will still require a Commissioner to approve). There will be some restrictions on this - for example, you may only play eight matches per season with your team. You may also not play against the same team twice in a row. And of course, you will not be able to play yourself.
Coaches will be split into divisions based on their location (example: Perth, Albany), but may play against anyone, at any time. Once a year, we will take the x number of top teams from each division, and invite them to compete in the WAFFL finals. This will take place in a one day Grand Final event, with the date and venue to be confirmed each year.
This obviously means that committed players may enter two, three or even more teams. But each team can only play eight games per season. And a coach may only choose one team to take to the finals should multiple qualify. We will explain the finals process more clearly later on, but suffice to say that if you win games, you have a shot.
The League is set to begin on July 1st, with Finals TBA.
Secondly, B*stard 7's.
For those from the Rock'N'Rumble League, you may be familiar with B*stard 7's. For those unaware, it is quite literally, a bastardised version of the sevens rules.
- Standard CRP rules, with some modifications:
- Maximum of seven players on the pitch
- minimum of three players on the roster, maximum of ten
- Beach Bowl Pitch is used (20 squares by 9 squares, one line of scrimmage, two wide
zones, of 2 squares each)
- Minimum of 2 players on the line of scrimmage
- 600,000 gold for starting teams
- Inducements, all except for Journeymen and Star Players
- Scheduled Matches. One game per month. Four minor rounds, plus finals. Top four play for
championship, the rest play for final position.
- Season Length: 6 months
The season is scheduled for start on the 12th of July.
And finally, the AOL - All Ork League.
I don't want to say too much on this, as it's still being worked on. But if you don't have a Greenskin team, perhaps look at getting one. This league looks to be a bit of fun. With scheduled matches, it could be great for the player who likes a bit of bash.
Start date to be confirmed.
WAFFL (Western Australia Fantasy Football League) look forward to seeing your teams on the pitch, and hope you will enjoy our Leagues. If you have any questions about these leagues, or running one yourself, please do not hesititate to get in touch.
