They are releasing some new starters and rulebook. Great looking minis and what I see of the QuickStart rules: Pretty fun to.

I have the orginal art book by Brom, and I've painted some of the miniatures for a friend, but not really interested in the game.

I have some forsaken too, although at the moment they are unassembled / unpainted. If you fancied trying them out :D . Unfortunately I sold off all my surplus Forsaken a little while ago.

I have a copy of the pre release new rules but not the new army book yet.

I preordered the Dark Age: Apocalypse book. Is that the new Edition? The forcelist I assume would be all the army list. Tempted to pick up another starter to rope in some more players.

Just a question Hutch: How do you think the system play? I'm kinda reminded of Malifaux with dice and more focused on close combat.

Yes the Apocalypse Book is the latest newly released book and the force list book is army lists although I think they have sample army lists on their site.

The system is quick play but cant compare it to Malifaux as I have only played one game of Malifaux and it didn't have much combat in it. In fact I cant think of any game similar to Dark-Age that I could compare it to :?

Basically each figure has a number of action points that they can use for melee / shooting / movement etc in any order they like. It has a mix of high tech and very low tech stuff but most things have a chance of malfunctioning. The planet has been all but abandoned and all knowledge to make and repair things has been lost.
Each of the fractions play very differently and each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Its set in a world of disrepair where its survival of the fittest and the week become the prey.

Happy to have a game whenever your ready

We have a few people playing Dark Age down at NWS atm.

If you ever want a demo or a game let me know I go to NWS and GT, when ever I can

With game play I have found every faction to be balanced and different from any other faction. The MALs and crit success and failures can really change the game and they also help when you think the game is lost a MAL or crit can change the game a lot. The rules are very easy to pick up but it can be a very complex game even more so after you have had a few games. The main thing to remember with dark age is everything dies!!

MAL= You roll equal to or higher then the MAL number and you take a auto hit from your own weapon and need to roll a AR save.
Crit success (attack)= The other guy doesnt get a armour save and is affected by all the weapon SAs
Crit failure (attack)= you rolled a 20 so the attack misses and if you have a MAL u take that as well and you lose a AP
Crit success (AR save) =you roll a 1 and take no dmg
Crit failure (AR save) = rolled a 20 so u take a extra wound.

Just put them up since its one of the really fun things in the game.

Also Batal games are selling the models and are also looking at running a March to Immortality torney in June (some where around then)

I have Skarrd, Outcast and Ice caste.

So i happened to have batal games site open next to westgamer, so I flicked across and checked out the models.

They are pretty great.

Those Dragyri almost tempted me into buying. However I kinda promised myself no more game systems until I paint and play more stuff.

Dragyri are great you use 3 slaves for every trueborn so u have lots of the little guys running around. Yeah they cant hit or kill much but when they get a crit it funny. they also have some nice spells.
