Armadale Wargames is ceasing its weekly Saturday meetings, due to a decline in the number of members who can regularly attend on Saturdays and a 40% increase in the venue hire cost from 01/01/2015.

The last regular club meeting will be held on 13/12/2014.

Armadale Wargames Inc will not be ceasing operations entirely as we hope to organise some regular events in 2015, with the committee and members will be looking at this early next year.

I expect that these events will not necessarily be constrained by the club’s previous geographic area of operations and we will look to take advantage of more central venues.

On behalf of Armadale Wargames and myself I would like to thank all of you who have supported our past events and attended our weekly meetings and look forward to seeing you at future events.

Regards

Gary Danaford
Treasurer Armadale Wargames Inc

Very sorry to hear this, it must have been a very tough decision.

I'll look forward to the events!

Not that tough really, you can only run at a loss for so long :(

Originally the club was created to cater for the needs of younger members of the gaming community. Unfortunately a certain company seems to have gone out of its way to destroy this part of the market, especially locally.

The environment has changed so we are hopefully going to evolve and survive!

Sad to hear, Gary. We weren't far from this fate ourselves at the start of the year, so I get where you're coming from.

Sad to hear, but interested to hear about those new potentially centrally located events :)

Are these going to be GW events, or other systems as well? For what it's worth, i really enjoyed the xwing tourney you run at the beginning of the year. And of course, your 40k events have always been extremely well run :)

Thanks, hopefully we will see the Nids in action again soon.

Well I'm hoping to continue running 40K events, Alex and co are playing more Fantasy so I'm looking at that as well and I'm certainly interested in X-wing (have a few FFG event packs to use up).

I'm plan on chasing up venue options in the new year and will look at working with other clubs etc. as well.

Sad to hear Gary, I hope everything turns out for the best. I'm very keen for your next Xwing event.
