Hi Guys

This is my starting list for the 500pt skull Road Roster. The First 500pts! What do you think?

HQ:
Chaos Lord

I'm no expert on Chaos but I'd want a transport for my marines to get those meltas in range... could you drop a few CSMs for a rhino?

Yeah a rhino for the marines would be great, and a mount for the Chaos Lord too. Swapping the Hellbrute out for some bikers, and putting the Lord on a bike, would be pretty good. Also worth noting you need to put the type of power weapon in your list these days, axe would probably be the best bet for the ap2, and his plasma pistol is probably a bit pricey, another thing worth dropping if youre looking for points.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I dont think i will dump the hellbrute as i like the look of him. :) i may look at the chaos lord again and may try to find 100pts for a rhino, Or i may just put it into the next 250 point block. I think i will revisit the chaos marines and play with them a bit

If you like Hellbrutes it might be worth looking at one of the formations. Theres a cool one where you basically get to look out sir hits off the hellbrute into cultists. Not sure where the rules are but here was a review that gives a run down.

Can cultists have 2 Flamers at only 10 models. Might need to drop a Flamer or increase unit size.

Also I would consider a sorcerer for HQ choice at just 500pts

The psychic buffs are well worth while in small games.

Yea. Cultists can only have one special weapon in a 10 man squad, also you can only get 1 melta in a 5 man marine squad, but upon rereading your list you have. A 20 man cultist squad and a 10 man marine squad. Correct?

If our going to get close enough to use meltas effectively maybe consider paying for the close combat weapons for the marines as well, your bound to end up in hand to hand. My maths says you have 5pts left as well.
The AP2 for the axe I'd good but the initiative step 1 from unwieldy isn't. Due to the champion of chaos rule you will often end up in challenges with your lord and the axe means you must survive the opponents assault before your get a chance to use it.
