Heres something a little interesting I was thinking about:

Champions of Fenris detachment

Wolf Lord - WARLORD
Thunderwolf, Runic Armour, Power Fist, Storm Shield

Wolf Lord
Thunderwolf, Runic Armour, Power Fist, Storm Shield

Wolf Guard Terminators
3 Combi-Meltas
Drop Pod

Wolf Guard Terminators
3 Combi-Flamers
Drop Pod

5 Thunderwolves
2 Power Fists, 4 Storm Shields

Drop Pod

Space Marine Combined Arms Detachment

Kor'Sarro Khan
Moondrakkan

Bike Squad
1 additional Biker, 2 Meltaguns, Attack Bike with Multimelta, Veteran Sergeant, with Combi Melta

Bike Squad
1 additional Biker, 2 Gravguns, Attack Bike with Multimelta, Veteran Sergeant, with Combi Grav

Centurion Devestator Squad
Omniscope, 3 Grav-cannons

Each Wolf Lord joins a bike squad, and Khan joins the Thunderwolves. All three units then get scout and hit and run. Then I have three nasty drop pods as well (centurions in the wolf pod). Other options involve dropping all the drop pod units for flyers... but that dosnt sound as fun :P (Though i could fill my mandatory 2 elites with 10p servitors).

If this list goes first it puts around 24 grav shots and 8 melta shots in first turn, and has a pretty large number of 2+ models around to soak firepower. If it goes second, well it should survive most shooting, thanks to 2+/3++ and 2+/3+ cover saves everywhere. And most importantly 22 S10 attacks on the charge, who said close combat was dead.

Whats everyones thought on The Black Death on one of the Wolf Lords... basically you have either 6 S10 ap2 attacks and a 3++, or 10 S7 ap2 attacks and a 4++??? Both are at I1, remembering that they both have rending too so even the S7 can kill a Land Raider (though its only 7 S7 attacks against a single target like a tank).

Actually turns out you cant take that Relic with the Champions detachment, but its pretty easy to swap the wolf guard out for grey hunters too, so I still wouldnt mind thoughts on the comparison.

You only get scout from Khan being your Warlord.

Makes all the difference as your Warlord has to be from your Primary detachment.

No difference to the build or how it plays though - I assume that's what tom is referring too.

Depends on the style of event and restrictions.

Yeah this list dosnt work for a tournament running ATC/ETC style restrictions or Community Comp restrictions. It works fine for the US style or the Ultimates style, and obviously its good in a zero restriction tournament.

Any thoughts on the Kraken bone sword either - gives 7 S6 ap2 master crafted rending attacks, but at I5 not I1. Or is the S10 power fist attacks too important due to Knights?
