This was a successful Kickstarter several years ago which a few people showed some interest in on this thread here.

Their website has been up and running for sometime by Red Republic Games.

I've played a number of games using the playtest rules for some time now and it seems relatively straight forward, developing tactics was the only real point of contention as well as a few clunky mechanics but the miniatures had already won me over. Having spent 10min reading the new rulebook and getting about half way through I've thought up some new tactics already. The game itself can be played with 1 or more players as we had a few 3 player games with ran pretty smoothly. Single player you would pit yourself against some of the mighty Titans.

A forum has also been running since the end of the Kickstarter.

Now their webstore is up and running for the public to purchase their wares!

I got quite a few of the models from that page and have to say they are very good quality resin.

Here is my first assembled and painted model, the mighty Acerbus!

After getting the rule book, they have some examples in there with fully painted miniatures and their bases look a lot more dynamic, so I'm going to be switching to that style 8)
Hope to get two more miniatures finished by the end of the month as well as quite a few of my Ludus Magnus cohort assembled.

Colour me intrigued.

We'll have to get a game in at some point.
I've been eyeing this and Jugula off recently.

Finally starting work on the Ludus Magnus basic set. Marcus Furius down, 2 to go.

PM me when you are next running a game, I would love to learn it some time.

I did end up backing that kickstarter. I like the gladiatorial theme and the mini's look great. I have never actually played a game yet though... if it actually takes off I will dig the stuff out :)

Two quick questions.

What factions did people back?
(Ludus Magnus and Morituri for my part)

How do people store and transport these very fine models?

A couple of us have been having some games up at Gamagori. So if anyone is interested please send me a PM and we can organise a game at some stage.

Keep tuned, as there might be a demo day in the future.

Gah!

I so don't need another system.

How is the game play? Any game reports or feedback? Even links to other sites that give a good run down?

How does it play out tactically on the sand and in the Strategy of building a Ludus and managing from game to game?

Cheers :)

Very quick game play and simple enough to learn, but there is a degree of tactical depth there.

Games are normally 3, 5, 8 men a side, with some variations on the usual "death match". The majority of matches I've played have come down to the wire, just leaving one man (or woman) to claim victory.

Some factions have a little more choice of line up than others, but you are not required to stick to one faction for your ludus. If you do have 75% of your force one faction, you do get some pretty sweet bonuses, but you can function nicely without them.

Probably the best taster of the game is the Team Covenant Adepticon demo.

Shut Up and Sit Down also have a review, which should give you a rough overview.

Hope that helps some.
